Chemical pipework punishes the wrong elastomer quickly. A standard rubber sphere on acid or solvent duty swells, softens and then fails at the flange, and the leak usually shows up in the worst place at the worst time. A PTFE liner removes that failure path: the medium meets a surface it cannot attack, while the rubber behind it continues to absorb movement and vibration.
This DN150 (6 inch) flange type joint carries a PTFE liner through the full bore. The flange ends are drilled to DIN, ANSI or JIS and machined flat so the gasket seats cleanly, and the length is set on the approval drawing to suit the gap you actually have in the pipe run.

Q1: What does the PTFE lining actually protect?
A1: It keeps the chemical away from the rubber. On acid, alkali or solvent service a plain rubber sphere would swell, harden or break down; with the liner in place the medium only meets PTFE, while the rubber underneath still does the movement and vibration work.
Q2: Is the 6 inch face length the same as the unlined version?
A2: Not always. Lining thickness changes the overall build, so the exact face-to-face length is fixed on the approval drawing. Send your available pipe gap and we design the joint to fit that space.
Q3: Which body compound sits behind the liner?
A3: EPDM, NBR, NR or FKM depending on temperature and any secondary exposure. Tell us the medium, concentration and working temperature and we specify the combination.
Q4: How is the lined joint tested?
A4: The liner is checked for pinholes and bond first, then the finished unit undergoes a hydrostatic proof test at 1.5 times the working pressure together with dimensional and visual checks.
Q5: What is the order quantity and lead time?
A5: One set is accepted and price improves with quantity. Lined joints normally need 15-30 working days after payment because of the extra lining stage.
